Is the Celtics loss to the Wizards anything to be concerned about? The sign of great teams in the NBA is the ability to win on consecutive days. The Celtics won a tough game against the Nets but then couldn't recover in time to beat the Wizards. That is usually a bad sign.

Garnett, Pierce and Ray Allen are all in their 30's so there is a price to pay for playing back to back nights. The Bulls in their last run suffered a similar problem, when Jordan, Pippen and Rodman were all at the end of their careers. The Bulls were able to get through it because their stars took great care of their bodies and never suffered any major injuries. The Celtics three stars appear to have the same dedication and want to win now.

The Celtics were short handed last night and the loss of Rondo could be a good sign. That he is in fact more valuable then the rest of the league is giving him credit for. There is some talk of Gary Payton but nobody knows why. He would not be a good fit but it is apparent that a solid backup point guard is needed. Tony Allen is a wing and Eddie House is a catch and shoot backup guard. Not a playmaker. So there are weaknesses even on a team that has won 30 out of their first 35 games. The trading deadline could be interesting for the Celtics as Danny Ainge and Doc Rivers ask themselves if this team has all the pieces this year. Knowing that they have to maximize every year with the big three before their bodies start to break down.
