The Patriots must have paid up for Moss. Expect a huge contract and my guess is Tom Brady must have restructured his deal to get Moss to stay.

Tis the season to start hating the New England Patriots. The official backlash will begin one minute after their win against the Giants on Saturday as the nation watches. Think the "Friends" backlash was bad? This will blow that away.

SI got the ball rolling with Bill Belichick pictured as Santa. He looks like the Grinch and the media hates him. So all the pieces are in place.

1) Old men (The 72 Dolphins) will cry as their record goes down. They will argue steroid era, bye week, Belichick cheats etc.
2) A former thug, Randy Moss has redeemed himself and much like Cory Dillon, has rehabilitated himself in New England. Moss will set a touchdown record tomorrow and really annoy Jerry Rice and all other drug passing greats.
3) Tom Brady will set a new passing record. Probably on a pass to Moss. The official Brady backlash will begin. Think Backstreet Boys times 50.
4) Belichick will look like a bully for his treatment of Mangini and Shula will frown and say his father would not approve.
5) The public will complain how they get all the calls. From the Ravens game to the snow bowl against the Raiders that got the whole thing rolling.

If the Patriots do not win the Super Bowl their season will be seen as a complete failure and the nation will rejoice. New England fans have been spoiled in many ways over the last few years (The Red Sox).

So be prepared for a Nor'easter backlash.
