Phil Jackson- The Forrest Gump of The NBA

Paul Pierce is under some heavy criticism for his comeback from his knee injury in Game One against the Lakers. Pierce stated that he was "scared" when he heard the pop in his knee. That is easy to understand given that Pierce is finally at the pinnacle of his career and what he has endured with the god-awful Celtic teams of the last few years.

Getting carried of certainly looks embarrassing for him now. But at the time it looked like this could turn into a four game sweep if his knee sustained real damage to it. Is Pierce to blame for having his teammates carry him off the court? No. Just an emotional reaction by him and his team as everyone feared the worse.

If anything, this adds to what looks like a great series and fires up the chippy Phil Jackson. Who despite coaching Shaq, Kobe, Pippen, and Jordan has managed to win 9 NBA titles and managed to keep his ego in check all the while.

Jackson also was there, when Willis Reed made his amazing comeback after his injury and knows a great warrior when he sees one. The insight of Phil Jackson never ends. Just ask him.

Funny, when you think about it, where ever there is a great NBA moment, Phil Jackson seems to have a role.

That makes him the Forrest Gump of the NBA.

I Wonder what Red Auerbach would think of this?
