Chris Pronger Suspended For Dirty Play
Chris Pronger of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks was suspended for 8 games without pay for stomping on the back of the calf of a Vancouver player as the two were entangled in a play. Ryan Kesler was not injured by Prongers act, but because he had the "intent" to cause injury the ruling was made. This is not the first time Chris has gotten suspended; last year he elbowed Dean McAmond in the head in the Stanley cup finals and sat out one game (it should have been more) McAmond got a concussion as a result. When players act in this unprofessional way, more and more they lose the respect of their fellow players. This is now where Chris finds himself. It certainly undermines all of his newsworthy accomplishments in the NHL. Pronger who is known as the "hunter" on the ice will now be the "hunted" the next time he faces off against the Canucks. He better change his temperament and attitude fast or things will only get worse.
